I think this film is very underrated as a war film, John. Great quote. Thanks.
p.s., if you haven't read it, I highly recommend its literary source: We Were Soldiers Once...and Young: Ia Drang - the Battle That Changed the War in Vietnam by Harold G. Moore and Joseph L. Galloway.

Definitely underrated. I think it was overshadowed by Ridley Scott's excellent Black Hawk Down, released the year before.
I haven't read the book yet, but I intend to at some point.

Agreed that this is an underrated and underappreciated film.
I really do enjoy it.
It's a litle on the "SPORTY side", to paraphrase Mel Gibson's character.
