Bob, I've always believed that it takes a better actor to play a villain than it does to play a hero. For example, everyone fawned over Alan Alda in M*A*S*H*, but Larry Linville (Frank Burns), owned every scene he was in.
I live in the Albany, NY area with my wife, our two kids, and our devious dog (he is a four legged criminal mastermind). I work as an investigator and I'm a member of the Air National Guard.

He was a guy you love to hate. A great villain is an essential ingredient to a great movie.
Martin Kove used to be on Cagney and Lacey (a long time ago), but THIS role was the one that got you to really dislike every fiber of the guy.

When he plays a good guy, he's decent as well.
