On this date in 1977, serial killer Ted Bundy escaped from the jail in Glenwood Springs, CO. His jailers didn't notice that he was missing until noon the next day, seventeen hours after he had escaped. By this time, he was already in Chicago, IL. Bundy went on to attack six more women, three of whom died, before he was rearrested by Florida police in February 2008.
